Arizona Turquoise | Mediterranean Coral | Sterling Silver
Mediterranean Coral may come from waters far beyond the Southwest, but few materials pair more naturally with turquoise in Native American jewelry. The vibrant red-orange tones of coral have complemented the cool blues of turquoise for generations, creating one of the most recognizable and beloved color combinations in Southwestern art.
Navajo silversmith Lester James brings that classic pairing to life in this striking handmade ring. Using traditional cobblestone inlay techniques, Lester carefully arranges hand-cut turquoise stones alongside two vivid cuts of Mediterranean Coral. The combination of bright blue turquoise, matrix-filled stones, and bold coral accents creates a design full of movement, balance, and Southwestern character.
The sterling silver band is formed using old-style tufa casting methods, one of the earliest Navajo silversmithing techniques. The process leaves behind the distinctive organic texture visible throughout the silver, giving the ring a rugged handmade feel that perfectly contrasts the smooth polished stones.
Every piece of inlay is individually shaped and fitted by hand, making this ring a true one-of-a-kind work of wearable Navajo art. The result is a bold ring with timeless Southwest style — the kind of piece that feels equally at home on the ranch, in town, or as part of a serious Native American jewelry collection.
