Kingman Turquoise | Sterling Silver
Turquoise has fascinated collectors for generations. No two stones are ever exactly alike, and even longtime collectors are still surprised by the endless variations nature creates. A single stone can resemble turquoise from several different mines depending on its color and matrix, which is part of what makes the gemstone so captivating.
This bracelet by Navajo silversmith Melvin Francis centers around a beautiful piece of Kingman Turquoise. The stone showcases that classic sky-blue color with a subtle brown matrix drifting naturally across the center, giving the cuff a clean and timeless Southwestern look.
Melvin builds the bracelet using traditional Navajo silverworking techniques passed down through generations. The three wire shank is formed with stamped triangle wire borders that frame a twisted wire running down the center, creating balance and movement throughout the cuff. Around the stone, Melvin adds classic wirework, silver drops, and tightly coiled details that bring depth without overwhelming the simplicity of the design.
Finished with a bright mirror polish, this cuff has the kind of comfortable, everyday wearability that defines great Navajo jewelry—traditional craftsmanship paired with effortless style.

It’s a familiar story in Native American jewelry: one generation passes the craft to the next. That’s how Navajo silversmith Melvin Francis got his start. From the time he was eight, Melvin sat at his father Ted Francis’s workbench—watching, helping, and slowly learning the skills that would shape his life. Today, Melvin still uses many of the same tools his late father once held in his hands.
